Weight Managment, Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating

Struggling with Weight Management?

Weight management isn't just about losing pounds – it's about understanding your relationship with food, your body, and your emotions. It’s a complex, ongoing journey that requires patience, self-awareness, and the right tools to navigate the ups and downs.

Whether you're caught in cycles of overeating, undereating, or using food as a coping mechanism, managing your weight can often feel like an emotional and mental battle that leaves you feeling stuck, frustrated, and powerless.

You're not alone. Many people struggle with their weight, and for some, this involves disordered eating – patterns of food-related thoughts and behaviors that can disrupt your mental, emotional, and physical health.

What Disordered Eating Really Feels Like

Disordered eating doesn’t look the same for everyone, but common experiences include:

  • Feeling out of control around food, eating in secret or binge eating
  • Over-restricting food or dieting excessively
  • Obsessing over food choices or body image
  • Using food as a way to cope with emotions or stress
  • Feeling guilt, shame, or anxiety around eating
  • Avoiding social situations that involve food
  • Struggling with constant thoughts about food, weight, or appearance

Disordered eating is not a moral failing – it’s a pattern of behavior that can be changed.

The good news is that with the right support, you can break free from unhealthy eating patterns and learn to nourish your body in a balanced, sustainable way.

My Approach to Weight Management and Disordered Eating

As a Clinical Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist, I take an evidence-based approach to weight management and disordered eating. Together, we’ll work on understanding your unique challenges, reprogramming your mindset, and building healthier relationships with food and your body.

My approach is personalised, gentle, and rooted in neuroscience to ensure lasting transformation, not just temporary fixes. I use a combination of:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – to address the negative thought patterns and behaviors that fuel disordered eating. We’ll work on changing the beliefs that keep you stuck in cycles of overeating, undereating, or self-sabotage.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) – focusing on practical, future-oriented solutions that help you create a healthier, sustainable approach to food. We’ll identify your strengths and resources to guide you toward your goals.
  • Clinical Hypnotherapy – using deep relaxation to access the subconscious mind and reprogram emotional triggers, unhealthy associations with food, and the underlying causes of disordered eating.
  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) – to shift emotional patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and help you feel more in control of your eating habits and your life.
  • Neuroscience – understanding how your brain works and how to harness neuroplasticity to support healthier habits, overcome food-related stress, and reframe negative body image.

This integrated approach doesn’t just mask symptoms; it helps build a healthier foundation for sustainable weight management from the inside out. Together, we’ll work on creating lasting changes that empower you to feel at peace with food and your body.

Why Hypnotherapy for Disordered Eating?

Hypnotherapy is an incredibly powerful tool for addressing disordered eating, especially when combined with other therapeutic techniques like CBT and SFBT. When you’re in a deeply relaxed state, hypnotherapy helps bypass your overactive mind, accessing the subconscious where many food-related issues originate.

By reframing limiting beliefs, dissolving emotional blocks, and promoting positive associations with food and self-image, hypnotherapy helps your mind and body find a natural rhythm of balance and self-care.

It’s not just about the food; it’s about healing the emotional relationship with yourself that’s at the heart of disordered eating.

Research shows that hypnotherapy can significantly reduce food-related stress and emotional eating, with many clients experiencing positive shifts in their eating habits and mindset after just a few sessions.

You Deserve a Healthy Relationship with Food

If you’re ready to finally break free from the cycle of disordered eating and develop a healthier, more balanced approach to food, this work can help you get there.

Managing your weight doesn’t have to be a struggle. With the right support, you can retrain your mind and body to nourish yourself in a sustainable, compassionate way – and wake up each day feeling confident and in control.

You deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin and to have a healthy, fulfilling relationship with food. That’s exactly what we’ll work towards, together.
